Back in March 2019, our hearts grew a little bigger when we welcomed this handsome fella into our home – meet Ozzy! We found him at a shelter in Minnesota. He had been surrendered by an older man who didn’t share much about his past. All we knew was that his name was Simba at the shelter. His age and background were a mystery, but from the moment we saw him, none of that seemed to matter.
When we first visited the shelter, it was love at first sight. Ozzy walked straight up to me, headbutting and purring like we were already the best of friends. My heart melted instantly, and I knew right then that he was coming home with us.
His Name
You might be curious about how we chose the name Ozzy. Vince had two cats when he was little named Ozzy and Harriet. He adored those cats, and we decided to honor his childhood memories by naming our new fur baby Ozzy. So, if the original Ozzy were still around, this would be Ozzy Jr.!
His Traits
Ozzy is a big boy, tipping the scales at around 15-16 pounds. But let’s be honest, a lot of that is fluff! His beautiful orange and white coat is long and soft, hiding a pretty lean little guy underneath. So, while he might be a 16-pounder on the scale, he’s got a fit physique beneath all that fur. We like to think of him as “big-boned.”
Personality
Ozzy is the epitome of a chill cat. He’s our laid-back companion who loves napping, lounging on his back, watching birds & lizards from the window, and keeping me company while I write emails at my desk. He’s our little shadow, always escorting us around the house, making sure we don’t get away with much without his supervision. Toys and balls don’t interest him much; he’s a simple guy who prefers the comfort of a good cardboard box. His easygoing personality fits right into our laid-back lifestyle.

We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have Ozzy in our lives. He has brought so much joy and love into our home. We honestly can’t imagine our life without this fluffy bundle of joy. I am definitely the crazy cat lady whose phone is filled with Ozzy photos. He’s truly “puurrrfect” in every way. I look forward to sharing more about him with all of you!
